Teacher Description

Teaching all the necessary tools and techniques (scales/modes/chords/chords/rhythm/sight reading/ear training/theoretical understanding/improvisation) is essential to empower the student with a maximum of skill, self-expression, confidence and freedom. The aim is to create an enjoyable yet serious feel about learning and to motivate students towards excellence regardless of their personal goals. Qualifications: Diploma of Creative Arts (Music) with Honours from Wesley Institute (1993). Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Jazz Improvisation and Education (Sydney Conservatorium of Music). Additional Studies: Music Performance, Composition, Music Technology, and Musicology ( University of Western Sydney, 1997). Jazz guitar (with Carl Orr, Guy Strazzullo, Peter Zografakis and Peter O'Mara). Advanced Jazz Improvisation and Big Band performance (Sydney Conservatorium of Music). Teaching Experience - Emanuel has taught thousands of guitar lessons and composition/music theory lessons privately and at various schools. He has also taught music workshops and lectured in Harmony and Composition & Arranging (Wesley Institute, 1998).
