Artist Description

The Wheeze & Suck Band perform original and traditional songs, from sublime ballads to rip-roaring shanties, sung in exquisite four part vocal harmonies. The 'Wheezers' also play dance tunes on energetic and fiery fiddle and melodeon, accompanied by driving guitars and cello mandolin and underpinned with a grounding beat on percussion. Since their formation in 1996 the 'Wheezers' have played at most major Folk Festivals as well as weddings, corporate functions and special events. They have released 5 albums to date, the latest being "Flash Lads" in 2007. The band undertook an extensive, and very successful, tour of New Zealand in 2009 which included the Auckland Folk Festival. The 'Wheezers' music is passionate and lively, and is guaranteed to get the audience singing and dancing, making the performance a truly memorable occasion.!!
