George Washingmachine has had a vast and varied career in the entertainment business. As a child he trained for 7 years as a classical violinist, however, left all that behind when he formed his rhythm & blues band, The Dead Wringers in which he played guitar and sang. In 1984, George moved to Sydney and started playing jazz fiddle with The Conway Brothers Hiccup Orchestra. Since that time George has performed in countless bands and productions as a musician, actor and comedian both on stage and on screen: Sweet Atmosphere with Ian Date, Jalousie with Ignatius Jones, the Official Tribute To The Blues Brothers Show, Return To The Forbidden Planet, Bell Shakespeare Theatre Company, Circus Oz, Sydney Theatre Company, Please Send More Money (with Wendy Harmer), Chances, A Country Practice, etc.
George has toured the world performing in France, Holland, Edinburgh Jazz Festival, Germany, Sweden, Finland, etc., and continues to appear at all the major jazz and arts festivals in Australia.
