From the roots of the blues to uptown R&B, the band plays classic sounds in the style of wonderful musicians of the 40's, 50's and 60's, including Jimmy Reed, Ray Charles, Hank Williams, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Willie Dixon and T Bone Walker. The quartet often adds horns and piano, for a touch of Stax or Muscle Shoals, and sounds most scintillating as a quintet. For Texas swing and country gigs a pedal steel player joins the band. The trio has been described as reminiscent of New Orleans in the 1920's.
