Artist Description

Ultra-Cool jazz vocals and saxophone/flute, combined with a variety of instruments, all played by some of the finest jazz musicians in Australia. The Arié Awards is sophisticated, totally listenable jazz and will help create the perfect ambience for any occasion. The group plays the music of the jazz greats including Frank Sinatra, Chet Baker, Louis Armstrong, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Mel Torme, Ella Fitzgerald, etc. and is available as a duo (guitar and vocals/flute) up to a quintet (including bass, percussion, trumpet, etc.) Steve Arié has been a professional musician for 20 years. In that time he has performed with countless Australian greats including D.I.G., Dale Barlow, Bernie McGann, Ten Part Invention, George Washingmachine, Wanderlust, Errol Buddle, Pardon Me Boys, Frank Bennett, Martin Plaza, Gyan as well as World Music groups MARA and The Real Mexico. Steve has performed both nationally and internationally including two performances at the prestigious Chicago Jazz Festival, The Kennedy Centre for Performing Arts (USA), Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Ruhrfestspiele (Germany), and jazz festivals throughout Australia.
